It uses an existing technology, that of welding, through a jet of plasma blown at high speed by a nozzle at the same time. Through the gas an electric arc is established between the electrode and the surface to be cut which transforms the gas into plasma. The heat of the plasma transfers heat to the metal until it reaches melting temperatures. Plasma is effective for sheet metal cutting using a mixture of Argon and Hydrogen gas.
